Le ROUGE et NOIR perdent leur match d’ouverture de la présaison sur un but de dernière seconde

The Ottawa REDBLACKS never trailed the Montreal Alouettes until the final whistle, Friday night at TD Place, but a last-second kick dealt them a 22-21 defeat.

Lewis Ward kicked four field goals, before Richie Leone added another, and rookie receiver Daniel Oladejo hauled in his first career CFL touchdown, providing the offence for the REDBLACKS. Defensively, Kene Onyeka recorded a sack, with Tyron Vrede making a team-high five tackles.

Nick Arbuckle and Tyrie Adams split time under centre, with the latter throwing a nine-yard touchdown pass to Oladejo in the third quarter, giving Ottawa an 18-12 lead, before the Als responded with a touchdown of their own, and used a pair of field goals to take the game.

The REDBLACKS wrap up the preseason schedule vs the Toronto Argonauts on Thursday, June 1, at Alumni Stadium in Guelph.
