Le rouge et noirjouent leur dernier match sur la route contre les Argos samedi

With just two games left on their 2023 CFL season, the Ottawa REDBLACKS make their final road trip of the campaign, today, visiting the first-place Toronto Argonauts.

In the midst of a short week, the REDBLACKS are looking to rebound, after a tough loss in Thanksgiving Monday’s road tilt with the Montreal Alouettes. Despite showing flashes of solid play, Ottawa couldn’t find any sustained success, falling 29-3.

Despite Brandin Dandridge, and Nigel Romick sitting out this week’s contest due to injury, the REDBLACKS will see the return of reigning Most Outstanding Defensive Player Lorenzo Mauldin, who slots back into the lineup after a one-game absence.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION

With first place in the East Division locked up, the Argos are on cruise control as they roll into the postseason. They kept up their winning ways in Week 18, hanging a 35-12 home field win on the Edmonton Elks. Chad Kelly threw for 165 yards on 11 completions, complementing two rushing touchdowns from Cameron Dukes, and one from Deonta McMahon. Wynton McManus also recorded a pick six for the Argo defence.

Having played just one time on the season, the REDBLACKS and Argos will face off in a home-and-home set to close out their respective seasons. The lone meeting came back on August 13, in Toronto. Dustin Crum threw for 292 yards, and three touchdowns as the REDBLACKS offence kept pace with Toronto’s firepower, but the Argos pulled away late for a 44-31 victory. Justin Hardy, Jaelon Acklin, and Jackson Bennett all made touchdown receptions.
